What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?

There are 3 main types of semi-permanent eyelash extensions. These are Classic, Hybrid volume and Russian. These lashes are considered semi-permanent because each lash is applied onto one of your individual lashes, to create a longer/ fuller effect. Each lash type is different, and the treatment you select will depend on your prefernce, lash type and occasion. Classics are usually applied with Mink or Silk lashes; mink lashes are lighter and my preference to use on customers. Classics are good for an every day glow, as well as a natural look for a holiday or an occasion. Hybrid Volume lashes are applied with a mixture of flare and classic lashes. This is great for girls who want their lashes to stand out on a day to day basis, and want to be glamourous for events or a holiday. Russians are much more expensive and time consuming, they last just as long as Hybrid, and look much softer and natural. Russians are made only with flare lashes or by applying multiple thin lashes to one lash to create a flare on your lashes. I currently only provide Classic and Hybrid Lashes, which are the most requested and common type of lashes.

What's the difference between ‘lash extensions’ , ‘cluster lashes’ and 'strip lashes' ?

Lash extensions are better for your lashes, as less pressure is being applied to all of your lashes, due to one lash extension being placed on each strand. Lash clusters are less natural looking, and they look heavier on your lashes as they are multiple lashes that have been pre-made and clumped together. Strip lashes are a temporary lash solution for one occasion. You cannot sleep with them on, you will need to reapply these every time you want to wear lashes. The lashes sold on this website are reusable , and I would recommend lash cash holders to preserve your strip lashes for as long as possible. So, cluster lashes are more difficult to blend in with your natural lash line… and they’re usually lower quality, too. You’ll likely find cheaper rates for cluster lashes – and if you see them applied, you’ll know why!

How long will my extensions last?

With proper care, your extensions will last around 4 weeks, maybe longer depending on how quickly your lashes grow out.
For longer lasting lashes, I would highly recommend the lash protectors, which you can buy on this website or in person at your booking.
I would recommend a refill every 2-4 weeks for continuous full looking lashes. Depending on the state of your lashes, I may need to remove and reapply the lashes.

Do I need a patch test ?

If you have never had semi -permanent lashes, I would highly recommend a patch test. I can send you a sample in the post at a cost of £5. If you decide to go ahead with your booking, and you HAVE NOT reacted to the patch test , I will discount £5 off your booking.
If you have had semi - permanent eyelashes previously and had no reaction, you may book without a patch test at your own risk. I will provide a disclaimer form before your treatment to sign.

What should I expect from the treatment?

I will keep you relaxed and as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment. Most clients fall asleep, but if you want to put on music / podcast I am happy for you to do this. The adhesive glue may sting a little after the treatment once you open your eyes, but this is will not hurt you or affect your eyes long term. Most clients experience no pain throughout treatment. Your eyes will be closed throughout the entire treatment.

How long does it take?

For a classic set of lashes, your treatment should take up to 2 hours, for hybrid lashes, your treatment can take up to 3 hours and for a refill this will take up to an hour.

My lashes are sparse/short/fine/curly – will that be a problem?

Most clients are fine to have lash extensions, no matter what your concerns may be . I will ensure that a full consultation is carried out and I will not proceed with treatment until you feel comfortable with what you will received. I will also manage your expectations and advise the best look we can go for with your lashes.

Can you remove a fresh set of lashes I had from another lash tech ?

Yes, but I will not travel just for a removal. You will have to book a new set online , and I will charge £10 for removal of your current lashes if it is a full set. If less than 50% of lashes are left on your lashes, I will remove these free of charge.

Can I still use Mascara over my extensions?

You shouldn’t need to wear Mascara once you have lashes on. If you need to 2-3 weeks after your lashes have been applied, you must only use a water based mascara.

Do I need to prep my lashes before my appointment?

Yes, please make sure your eyelashes are nice and clean with no traces of eye makeup prior to your appointment. Use an oil-free make up remover if possible, and rinse well.

Why are your prices more than other lash techs?

I include the cost of travel to my bookings. I live in Hertfordshire, so anywhere I travel on the M25 / London will be at least £20 there and back, sometimes more.

What lash brand do you use ?

I mainly use Perfect lashes for classic and hybrid lashes. I do stock Eyecandy products, which are fuller / thicker lashes. I'll select the lash based on the lash style you want :).

How do I care for my eyelash extensions?

Avoid contact with water or steam for 24-48 hours after your appointment to allow the glue to cure. The longer you wait, the better! If you must shower, clean around your eyes and avoid getting water onto your lashes. Avoid exposing your lashes to prolonged heat, as this can weaken the bond and cause your extensions to fall off. No steam rooms, saunas or Bikram yoga! Only run a lash wand or brush through your extensions gently. If they are getting a little difficult to manager, you may also separate and tidy your lashes using a toothpick, ideally after a shower. Avoid using oil-based products around your eyes.

What if I don't like to turn out of my lashes ?

I'll ensure to do a thorough consultation before completing your treatment, so we achieve the look you desire. At the same time I will advise you based on the shape of your eyes and overall face. If after treatment you are not satisfied, I will edit your lashes accordingly, or offer you a £5 discount for that booking.
